Our area prides itself on being home to some of the best seafood recipes on the coast.
This year the North Carolina Oyster Festival is continuing our Oyster Stew Cook-Off.
We invite you to enter in 2012 with your best Oyster Stew for fame and prize money.

Along with cash and prizes, past winners have received recognition in local newspapers and Chamber of Commerce publications over the past several years. In 2007, the Oyster Festival was named the number one event of the year by the North Carolina Festivals and Events Association, In 2010 the Oyster Festival Events Director was named NC Events Director of the Year by the NC Festivals and Events Association.

Being a part of the Oyster Stew Cook-Off brings attention to you personally and also your business. You and your business with have exposure to over 50,000 festival attendees. Past winners have also been featured in local newspapers and newscasts along with photos in the Chamber of Commerce newsletter and Annual Visitor Guide.

  • Each contestant will be required to prepare 8 gallons of Oyster Stew.
  • The term Oyster Stew means any stew made with oysters as the only seafood.
  • Each serving of approximately (3) ounces will be served in a (4) ounce cup.
  • You must cook the stew at your restaurant and transport it to the festival site.
  • Entrants must provide their own equipment to keep hot food hot and cold foods cold.
  • Electricity, burners, warmers and coolers will NOT be provided.


We are provide tents, tables and all presentation supplies (cups, napkins, spoons).

Please bring table decorations for your area as well as a banner for your restaurant.

You will be allowed a maximum of (3) people per booth.
